Privacy Policy
Effective date / Last updated: August 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Junra Inc. ("Junra," "we," "us," or "our") processes information in connection with our AI-powered business communications and receptionist services. It applies to conversations conducted through the channels we support on behalf of a business, which may include Instagram, WhatsApp, phone, SMS, and website-based communications.
If you are messaging a business that uses Junra, that business is the one you are doing business with. Junra acts as their communications and receptionist service provider and processes information on their behalf and, in limited respects described below, for our own service-operation purposes.
1. Who Junra is
Junra Inc. is an Ontario, Canada company that provides AI-powered business communications and receptionist services to other businesses. Our system helps businesses respond to customer inquiries, answer approved questions, collect inquiry details, assist with appointment requests, and escalate conversations to a person when needed.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers information processed through Junra's receptionist and communications system when a customer messages a business that uses Junra, across the channels we support. It does not cover the separate privacy practices of the platforms customers use to send those messages (for example, Meta, Instagram, or WhatsApp), or of the businesses that use Junra, each of which may maintain their own policies.
3. Information Junra may process
Depending on the channel and the nature of an inquiry, Junra may process:
- Instagram, WhatsApp, or other platform identifiers associated with a conversation;
- Names or profile information made available to us through the messaging platform;
- The content of a message, to the extent necessary to understand and answer an inquiry;
- Short summaries of an inquiry, generated to support a timely and accurate response;
- Contact information a customer voluntarily provides, such as a name, phone number, or email address;
- Stated service interests;
- Appointment preferences and booking details, where a customer requests scheduling assistance;
- Message identifiers and conversation references, used to track and respond to a conversation; and
- Limited technical and security logs related to the operation of our system.
Message content must still be temporarily processed by our system, including by automated components, in order to understand and respond to an inquiry. We do not claim that message content passes through our systems without being processed — that processing is what allows us to generate a response.
Junra does not intend to permanently store complete conversation transcripts as part of our current workflow. Instead, we generally retain short structured summaries, contact and booking details, and conversation references, as described above.
4. How information is used
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to customer inquiries on behalf of the business we serve;
- Operate the AI receptionist, including interpreting and drafting responses;
- Assist with booking or requesting appointments;
- Escalate a conversation to a human team member when appropriate;
- Send internal notifications to the business about new inquiries; and
- Maintain the security, troubleshooting, and improvement of our service.
5. AI processing disclosure
Junra uses automated systems, including third-party AI models, to help interpret incoming messages and draft responses. A response generated by our system may be reviewed or escalated to a person, but many responses are delivered automatically. Our automated systems are designed to work from approved information and to escalate conversations that fall outside that scope.
Because messages may be processed by automated systems, we ask customers not to send more sensitive information than is necessary to address their inquiry — for example, avoid sending payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or health information through chat unless a human representative has specifically asked you to and the channel is appropriate for it.
6. Service providers and disclosures
Junra uses third-party service providers to operate its system. Depending on the channel and feature involved, this may include:
- Meta (Instagram and WhatsApp messaging infrastructure);
- OpenAI (language processing used to interpret and draft responses);
- Google Workspace / Google Calendar (email notifications and appointment scheduling);
- n8n (workflow automation that connects the components of our system); and
- Railway and its underlying cloud database providers (hosting for our application and PostgreSQL database).
These providers process information as necessary to perform the functions above; we do not sell personal information. We may also disclose information where required to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights, property, or safety of Junra, our customers, or others, or investigate suspected fraud or misuse.
7. Cross-border processing
Some of the service providers listed above may process or store information on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Where this occurs, information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.
8. Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the operational, legal, security, and customer-service purposes described in this policy. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose it was collected for. We do not currently operate an automated deletion schedule for all data categories, and we do not promise one that has not been implemented; where a customer requests deletion, we handle that request as described in our Data Deletion Instructions.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, consistent with the sensitivity of the information involved. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Customer choices and privacy rights
Customers may ask what information Junra holds about a conversation, request correction of inaccurate information, or object to certain uses, subject to legal and operational limitations. Customers can also manage their own privacy settings directly on the messaging platform they use (for example, Instagram or WhatsApp) in accordance with that platform's policies.
11. Data deletion requests
Customers may request deletion of information Junra controls about a conversation. See our Data Deletion Instructions for the process and what to include in a request.
12. Not directed to children
Junra's services are business-focused and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly operate our receptionist service to collect information from children, and we ask that individuals under the age of majority in their jurisdiction not send us personal information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or applicable law. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of a business's Junra-powered communications channel after an update constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy.
